This role involves providing technical support in an anesthesia department within an outpatient ambulatory setting. Responsibilities include assisting anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures, maintaining anesthesia equipment, participating in training programs, and performing various technical tasks related to anesthesia care. The position requires a minimum of two years of experience as an anesthesia technician.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia, including equipment preparation, monitoring placement, and ensuring cleanliness and availability of supplies.
- Communicating with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and other anesthesia technologists.
- Assisting clinicians with difficult intubations and central line catheter placement.
- Operating the cell-saver machine and tracking lab reports.
- Participating in various types of advanced surgical cases (cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, trauma, etc.).
- Ensuring anesthesia equipment is in good working order and performing preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshooting sophisticated equipment.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of in-service training programs for staff.
- Performing anesthesia equipment setup and troubleshooting (infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, transport monitors, anesthesia machines, fiberoptic bronchoscopes).
- Setting up rooms between cases and providing full service setup at the end of the day.
- Working with other hospital units to ensure availability of specialized anesthesia equipment.
- Setting up and supporting ectopic procedures for anesthesia care.
- Providing backup to the shift supervisor as needed.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Four-year college education with related technical training, or a two-year college education with related technical training and two years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification by the registry of the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body.
Special Considerations:
- Monday-Friday schedule, with some late nights until 7 pm as needed (based on procedures).
- No call, no holidays, no weekends.
- Outpatient ambulatory setting.
Scheduling:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with occasional late nights until 7:00 pm as needed.
