Job Description

Now Hiring for Our 28 Th and Final Season!

Betty Lou Cruises Captains.

If you love being around people and boats, then this job is for you! Our captains are responsible for ensuring the safety of the vessel, passengers, and crew. During our public cruises, captains present our prepared narration materials in an entertaining and informative manner. The captain, along with the crew, will be responsible for preparing the boat before the cruise and cleaning it afterwards.

Captains assist with pre- and post-season maintenance; fueling, cleaning, and other maintenance projects when there is down time. Captains must know and comply with all company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and emergencies. Captains can expect to work between 10 and 35 hours per week depending on their availability and our cruise schedule.

  • Familiarity and experience with Lake Mendota is a big plus. You must be fluent in English and be honest, dependable, and forthright.
