Job Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Huntsville Med-Psychiatry Program is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II. The Clinical Research Coordinator II will be involved in clinical research studies with patients who have serious mental disorders. This position will interact with other team members and senior investigators. Primary duties include screening and interviewing participants, obtaining biological samples, and managing investigational products.

General Responsibilities

• To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
• To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
• To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Annual Salary Range: $50,050 - $65,000

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement .

Preferences

Bachelor's degree in mental health counseling, psychiatry, or a closely related field.

Hard Skills: Experience in clinical trials is highly preferred.

Soft Skills: Willingness to collect vital signs and handle biological samples (e.g., blood samples) is required. Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP). Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential research study data.
