Job Description

Salary: $104,650 - 189,175 per year Requirements:

  • We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree with 10 or more years of relevant experience (or a Master’s degree with 8 years); additional experience, training, and/or certifications may be accepted in place of the educational requirement.
  • A U.S. Citizen who currently holds an active TS/SCI or Secret clearance (with the ability to upgrade/maintain TS/SCI upon hire).
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II+ certification (e.g., Security+ CE, SSCP, GSEC).
  • At least 3 years of experience using ACAS, Evaluate-STIG, SCAP, and related vulnerability tools.
  • Practical experience with DoD RMF, XACTA/eMASS, and NIST 800-53 documentation.
Responsibilities:
  • As the Information Assurance & Cybersecurity Lead, I will manage risks associated with processing, storing, or transmitting information to minimize impacts on the integrity and availability of information systems. My responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with both regulatory and non-regulatory requirements. Key tasks will involve the management and enforcement of information security policies, educating end-users on best practices, conducting security and risk assessments based on established frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF, Common Criteria), mitigating risks through security controls, and ensuring the protection of data throughout its life cycle. Specific duties include:
  • Serving as the primary cybersecurity contact for system owners, developers, and major stakeholders.
  • Developing and standardizing ISSO processes that align with DoDI 8500.01 for compliance.
  • Promoting lessons learned, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement for the ISSO team.
  • Overseeing every phase of the RMF lifecycle—from system categorization to continuous monitoring.
  • Preparing and maintaining A&A documentation, including SSPs, POA&Ms, and Security Assessment Reports.
  • Championing the implementation and verification of NIST 800-53 controls and STIG compliance.
  • Leading vulnerability scanning, audit log reviews, and ensuring accurate control documentation in eMASS/XACTA/CORE.
  • Guiding systems toward ATO and supporting cybersecurity readiness efforts, including CCRIs and internal audits.
  • Collaborating on incident response strategies and contingency planning with engineering and operations teams.
  • Mentoring junior IA engineers and assisting with emergent maintenance tasks.
