We are looking for an experienced Logistics and Transportation Manager with a strong background in both domestic and international logistics operations. This individual will be responsible for managing relationships with carriers (such as FedEx, UPS, and LTL), optimizing freight costs, ensuring trade compliance (including HTS/HS classification), and coordinating shipments across borders using the appropriate Incoterms and documentation. They will also ensure compliance with U.S. customs regulations, free trade agreements like USMCA, and other international trade laws.

Summary
• Manage and audit freight invoices from parcel (FedEx/UPS), LTL, and truckload carriers to ensure accuracy and contract compliance.
• Develop and implement plans to manage / reduce freight in and freight out costs year over year
• Oversee carrier performance and cost analysis, negotiating rates and service levels when needed.
• Ensure correct use of HTS/HS codes for imports/exports; coordinate with customs brokers and maintain up-to-date classification records.
• Monitor and manage trade compliance programs including USMCA eligibility and certification.
• Apply and advise on Incoterms selection based on transaction type, cost structure, and risk transfer responsibilities.
• Prepare and review international shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and export declarations.
• Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Purchasing, Sales, Finance) and external partners (3PLs, freight forwarders, customs brokers).
• Track key logistics metrics (e.g., cost per shipment, on-time delivery, claim rate) and implement improvements based on data.
• Stay current on international trade regulations, tariff changes, and shipping trends that may impact operations.
• Lead or support logistics-related projects, system integrations, and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, Local, and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance
• Must be organized and possess time management skills as well as the reactivity to adapt to priority changes
• Attend and actively participates in departmental meetings in a positive manner
• Communicate department's activities and strategies in conjunction with the direction of site leadership
• Available to assist in other areas of the company, as directed by site leadership

Job Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
• Proven experience with FedEx/UPS billing, LTL/TL freight negotiations, and dispute resolution.
• Strong knowledge of HTS/HS codes, trade documentation, and customs compliance.
• Working knowledge of Incoterms 2020 and international trade practices.
• Familiarity with USMCA and other free trade agreements.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and TMS tools (e.g., Freightview, MercuryGate).
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization, both oral and written as well as strong presentation skills required
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred:
• Experience with freight audit and pay platforms or third-party audit services.
• APICS, CSCMP, or similar certification.
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, International Trade, or related field
• Experience leading projects demonstrating financial improvements (cash and/or cost savings)
• Experience with M3 or similar ERP systems
• Lean Six Sigma experience
• Experience with Manufacturing Processes
