The Operations Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing assigned projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. The Operations Project Manager will plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way. This is all done within the confines of the company's goals, objectives, and vision. The Operations Project Manager will work on a wide variety of projects, including Construction, Engineering, Production and Distribution.

Essential Functions

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives for all assigned projects.
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements. Closely track project costs to meet budget.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan for each assigned project.
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
  • Serve as point of contact for team members when multiple assignments are made to the same project to ensure team members remain in synergy.
  • Monitor progress and adjust as needed. Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Sustain the project after completion by devising suitable maintenance, detailed work instructions, establishing KPIs for reporting and troubleshooting methods.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Leadership.

Working Conditions

  • The position will be based in Chattanooga, TN, reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations.
  • There will be limited business travel associated with this position.
  • This job operates in both a professional office and warehouse/shop environment. The individual in this role will also perform some job duties outdoors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment
  • The individual in this position will spend several hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain. Must be able to physically lift up to 50 lbs.

The Successful Candidate’s Qualifications Will Include

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, Logistics or related field required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Project Management
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle. Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point), specifically strong in Excel (Pivot Tables, V-lookups, etc)
