We’re looking for a Print Buyer who’s energized by logistics, loves a good challenge, and is ready to take the lead in a critical behind-the-scenes role at one of the most innovative publishers in the country.

We are actively seeking to fill the position of Print Buyer on our Purchasing team. As a Print Buyer, you’ll be part of the magic that brings books to life and gets them into readers’ hands—all while navigating the exciting challenges of a fast-moving, global supply chain. If you're an agile team player who’s confident, resourceful, and driven to find solutions where others see roadblocks, this role is for you.

This position can be hybrid in Naperville, IL or New York City, or fully remote in the following states ONLY: AZ, CT, IL, LA, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NY, NV, OR, PA, TN, TX, WA, and WI.

The salary range provided is $40,000 – $50,000 for the Chicagoland area. We determine starting pay based on a thorough evaluation of job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidate’s qualifications.

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with the data and manufacturing team to plan for all printing and reprinting needs across all titles.
  • Request and evaluate vendor quotes to identify the best-fit suppliers.
  • Actively seek out new vendor relationships around the globe.
  • Manage purchasing for a wide range of product types: co-editions, non-book items, displays, and print-on-demand.

  • Resolve quality and delivery issues quickly and effectively.
  • Communicate with domestic and international printing and logistics partners to ensure on-time delivery across borders.
  • Generate and distribute monthly reports to support inventory, printing, and warehouse visibility company-wide.
What You Bring
  • 2+ years of relevant experience or a degree in project management, business, logistics, or communications.
  • Experience in media or book publishing is a plus but not required. Familiarity with manufacturing or supply chains is also a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, especially with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Excellent project management abilities—juggling tasks and meeting deadlines is essential to success.
  • A proactive approach to improving processes and reducing costs.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor relationship skills.
  • A solutions-focused mindset and comfort with fast-paced environments.
  • Precision and attention to detail in all you do.
  • The ability to pivot quickly and decisively in response to shifting priorities.
  • A balanced approach to creativity and budget-conscious decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and follow-through.
  • Experience with international logistics and freight forwarders (especially coordinating with Asian offices) is a plus.
