Job Description



As a  Staff Account  with Westgate Resorts you will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process within the Resort Accounting function.

As a Staff Accountant you will:

  • Record journal entries accurately and on time, following the corporate closing schedule
  • Research and document financial data to support senior staff
  • Prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations promptly and accurately
  • Investigate reconciling items and report exceptions to senior staff for review

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of five years experience in a month end close general ledger environment
  • Hotel/Resort/Hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to work overtime to assist Financial reporting department deadlines
  • Entry level knowledge of various accounting software
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills written and oral
  • Ability to work independently and in a group environment (team player)
